One of the best parts of my job is seeing how people love each other.  It seems a little obvious because a wedding is based on love and commitment.  But I mean, how people LOVE each other.  With their words, embraces, the simple gestures, the help when there are last minute emergencies.  The family reunion, the college reunion, the childhood reunion.  The speeches, the tears, the goosebumps, the welcoming of new family members…it’s a whole gamut of emotions.  This wedding had the best of all these micro stories, two families from different states coming together, officially forever.  Becoming a wedding photographer wasn’t about the photos for me, it has always been about the people.  I love being a part of a celebration and am so privileged to tell a family story.  And Jordan and Ian’s story will always stand out to me as a joyous combustion of the fullest range of emotions a wedding can bring forth.  So good.

Ian and Jordan, together with their families, love each other so well.  Family first, always.  You can see it in their interactions and I am so grateful to have met such wonderful people.  They came together with a beautiful spiritual ceremony at St. James Cathedral and celebrated at the Four Seasons Hotel.  I hope you enjoy some of my favorite moments from their day and are able to get a small taste of it’s richness from this set of photos.  Big thanks to Jennifer Tai, bff and work wife extraordinaire, for your talent and help that day.  And you can watch the talented Aaron Horton‘s video of their day here (what the heck, so good.)

Thank you, Ian and Jordan for trusting me with your day.  I have loved getting to know you over the past year and a half.  Cheers to future, I know it’s going to be bright, or grey if you end up back in Seattle.  Hopefully the latter, xo.
